A6 4.2L - pros and cons?

(Cross posting to the quattro and V8 lists, since this question
kinda spans the two groups...)

Although I am not in the market [1], I know where I can pick up
recent a A6 with the 4.2L V8 engine for short (well, not *real*
short, but short enough) money. I'd consider giving up my A4 and
20V200 if I get the power of the 20V200 with the creature comforts
and reliability [2] of the A4.

Can anyone come up with a list of pros and cons? Feel free to rant
and rave.

[1] If ALFA means always looking for another, what does Audi
     stand for? Always Under Demonic Influence?

[2] Which happens to be in the shop getting a new starter. :(
