License plate mounting -- help!

Remove the metal clips and replace them with the plastic ones (they
are actually nuts). You may have to chisel them out, and then snap in
the plastic ones. These are available at any auto parts store, under
license plate hardware.  Had the same problem on my '98 Avant.
