Bentley DVD manuals

I bought the '98 A6 Avant I was looking at so I went looking for a
manual.  The paper manual for the C4 A6 is $250 and out of print, so I
got the $75 manual on DVD.  Is it me or is the DVD horrible?  I can't
find anything.  It doesn't have transmission shift charts for my car,
no detailed tear down instructions, no troubleshooting charts, and
doesn't even tell you where the battery is located.  Yes I can find
it, but this is ridiculous.  I have a bunch of paper manuals and love
them.  How can the DVDs from the same publisher be so bad?  Oh yeah I
forgot something.  The wiring diagrams are just scans of the paper
manual pages, and not very good ones either.  The paper version of
this manual had something like 3200 pages (3 volumes).  There is no
way there is more than 1000 pages worth of data on this DVD, probably
less.
