Honestly I couldn't tell you if they are or aren't - I've never taken the
bulbs out since I bought the lights. They are relayed with 12awg wiring
after the relays and a 6awg supply to the relays so as long as I keep them
aimed properly they wont hurt my car nor anybody elses eyes ;-).
It is very obvious that much of the advantage is in light pattern. The
European hard cut-off on the drivers side gives a ton of light in the lane
in front of you without casting too much on the lane to drivers left. This,
in a way, lets you aim them a bit more down the road without blinding on
comming traffic. The bulbs are of course alot better too.
