Would someone else with a chipped '91 200 20V Avant care to fill him in?
I'll start. Stock, it does 0-60 in about 6.6 seconds. Chipped, with
a 2.5 bar transducer, it puts a silly grin on your face. On the highway
in fourth with RPMs above 3000, floor it and traffic disappears behind
you in a hurry.
Add a suspension upgraded with Bilsteins and Eibachs, and a chipped
20v will make you do bad things.
And the beast is approaching antiquity.
Kent,
I was, of course, kidding.
I've logged at least 750k miles behind the wheel of Audis, and countless
hours underneath them with wrenches in hand. And, the best times were the 50 or
60k miles in my 91 200q20v sedan. But, a busted throw-out bearing, combined
with a busted shoulder that meant I could not re-do the clutch myself, and a
new business meant that the fun times went by oh, so quickly.
A very interesting South African guy drove down from New Jersey in a diesel
VW pickup with a transplanted TDI engine, hooked a tow bar up to the bumper
of the 200q20v and off he went into the night. A sad, sad day, indeed.
And, I'm thinking that an A4 avant 5-speed would be a good car for me. No
wife, no kids, but plenty to haul due to work.
You see, it is me who is getting old, and I had to take it out on somebody...
