i drove. i want. interestingly, the brake rotors on the r8 are the
same part# side to side, so the vaning goes the wrong direction on one
side of the car. so we are releasing an upgraded rotor kit for it
[alcon 2pc, full float, etc]. we also did springs on this car and new
bumpstops [a very active 'secondary spring']. it has our exhaust and
we powdercoated the IM crinkle red and wrapped it in flat black vynil
with a forged 3pc wheel. we were also able to fit the same tire size
[325 out back] that PPI engineering dd in their carbon fibre widebody
r8 [pics on essen coverage over on vortex].
the car is simply astonishing to drive. i've never driven anything at
this level. steering is telepathic, and the chassis is so connected
yet light and flickable. it feels idiotproof to drive. reminds me of
the bmw motorcycle paralever front end - no matter how screwy you come
into a corner, how bumpy it is, or how severe and inelegant your line
change is, the vehicle covers your mistakes and does a wonderful job
of self correcting. a hero car, for sure. not fast fast mind, like a
well setup b5s4, but holy mother what a chassis. talk abotu mass
centralization - the top of the valve covers are about equal to the
tops of the rear tires. dry sump FTW!!!!
happy weekend all!
