Why I like my MR2 more than a 914

It doesn't require an "idiot" to call a 914 a Volkswagen. The badge on the
back of the car told you it was! Example:

I've driven and autocrossed virtually every car mentioned in the myriad
offshoots of the original thread. (Including the 914/V8) Each has there own
appeal. I think a well set-up Fiat X1/9 is the closest thing to a street
legal go-kart. Does that mean I like it more than a Miata? Nope, not at
all. When I'm autocrossing, I like a car that wins! If the Fiat was better
in its class than the Miata, that's why I liked it.

On a road-trip through the southeast a few months ago I passed a place
called the Fiero Factory: http://thefierofactory.com/ They do a fair
amount of business with Northstar conversions. I even saw a Fiero with a
cap (?): http://5000tq.com/audifanspics/Miscellaneous-Stuff/IMG_0774

  7500 RPM redline

Using the radio doesn’t require a passenger or sliding to the middle of
the car

  Brakes that work

It didn’t rust out so badly that the doors won’t open

  A gearshift linkage that works

  Heat

  Idiots can’t say”  it’s really a VW”
