Thanks for the wisdom. After your comments, i am fairly sure that is the
problem, since I did have the gear thingy off the cylinder housing. I was
confident I had it all assembled correctly, but evidently not.

Danny -  I have not had a chance search the archives for the Chris's
archived site. - If it'd be easy for you to send me a copy of Chris's write
up, that's be great.

I'll let you know how it all goes.
