Won't work. Any clunker to be junked has to have been registered (as
in plated, not just titled) in the person junking its name for the
past year and have been properly insured for the same time. This is
to prevent exactly what you are talking about, and ensure clunkers
being junked are ones actually being driven on the road.
Incidentally, I'm considering junking my 90 200. It needs about
$1500 in parts (me doing the work) to be reliable again, and still
would be worth less than $1000, while I can get $4500 value in a
trade in without having to do any work.
