Fuel pressure accumulator

Thank you guys for reinforcing my belief that Audi engineers had put it there for a reason! I asked the question because of a similar situation I had with a Subie many years ago: I removed the rusted out regulator with no adverse effects.

yep, the accumulator is there to help maintain fuel pressure..........a good
operating accumulator needs to be there

Maintains residual fuel pressure after engine shutdown, inhibiting vaporization of fuel in
system during cool-down period of hot engine and?greatly facilitating warm restart.
Very good idea to replace with good unit.
