I was going to suggest what Kneale has apparently done ... I measured the
hood pin locations on my 5kCSQA and V8 and found them to be pretty much the
same ... so it is possible to install the V8 hood on the T44 body. You
might want to sit your Avant next to a V8 to see if there's a way you could
work the V8 fenders onto the rest of the nose of the Avant. Perhaps a Euro
bumper for a T44 will have a look closer to the bumper on the V8. This sort
of project would involve a lot less having to play with vital systems of the
car and creating a "bastard" of which you will be the only one to know what
coolant hoses and other items will fit ...
Unfortunately one of the big advances the V8Q has over the T44 are the
headlights ... were I to attempt such a project I'd see if there was some
way I could fit the V8's headlights without having to rip too much else
apart.

I have the V8 hood on my 200q20v avant with nonturbo E-lights. The
intercooler is behind the grille on the hood, which replaces most of the
grille assembly from the 200 (had to keep the lower bar of the 200 grille
to anchor the chrome trim strip above the bumper cover), and the airflow to
the radiator on the driver side as normal. I'd think the same arrangement
would work with the V8 bumper and fenders if you had the frame extensions
and core support. If I ever run across a set of frame extensions, I'd try
it.

I hae he complete "kit" for a 200 20V wagon that I was going to
convert. It has to include the bumper extensions, or you have to be
willing to fabricate them from steel stock. Also, you will have to
figure something out as far as the tadiator setup, as the 5's have it
on the side with the A/C condensor, and it's in the front of the V8.
I'm not 100% sure, but I'm thinking the 5 would hit the radiator int
he front. I was going to do it with the V8 conversion as well, so that
would not be a problem. However, either way, the plumbing for the
radiator and the A/C condensor is WAY different. So, there would have
to be a workaround for that as well.
I also have another 5000 front end appart. Unfortunately, I don't have
a photo account, nor are the parts here. I'm living in Houston now,
and the cars are on my five acres in the Oklahoma City area :(
