Had a similar condition on my 80Q with the 5000 turbo transplant engine.
Turned out to be cold start valve switch/sensor (can't recall exact name).

Today, after driving to a couple places, I tried to start the car and it
would crank but not start. At first I thought vapor lock, so I cooled down
the fuel lines and waited 30 minutes. I tried to start again but just
cranks.

I have replaced in the recent past the hall sensor (dist), dist cap and
rotor, plugs and the igntion switch. I check all of the fuses and they were
OK.

I suspect the "new" ignition switch. When I turn the key to crank, it
cranks but I see no movement of the fuel or temp guage. Interior light comes
on, radio plays. So some of the things are getting power. What can I check in
the engine to see if voltage is coming from the switch, when it is turned
on?
