to operate when the lights fail, given the trend in electronics in cars
these days.

In the last week, I've seen no less than three '09 A4's with the fancy
LED lights, where one side was lit up and the other side 'burnt out'.

Amazing.  In the US, the cars are what, barely 6 months old, tops?
