As someone with two decades of experience in media, including working at and
for some pretty major daily newspapers I can say that none of the editors
I've ever worked with shied away from covering anything, especially crime.

In fact, if any of them or myself for that matter had been "approached" by a
bank in search of this kind of "agreement" we would have considered it news
and reported on it.

The reality is that because bank robberies are fairly common, the ones that
don't involve violence, blood, death to innocents or large amounts of cash
(most sums stolen are relatively paltry) don't rank high in the news cycle.
They'll get a mention, maybe a shot from the bank's video of the perp and a
plea to help "identify the suspect", and the cycle will spin on to more
interesting and important things. Like Brittany's latest boyfriend.

Just my $0.02. Those who have also worked at newspapers, TV stations and
other media outlets can feel free to chime in. But pretty off topic, IMO.
Unless, of course, you're using an Audi as the getaway car or robbing banks
to pay for those RS2 upgrades. If so, do tell! :-)
