Inner CV joint assembly on the axle?

   I had one shaft on my CGT apart at the weekend.

    I realise this is a different car, but as regards the *inner* CV I 
thought they were nearly all retained by a C clip. My experience is that 
they slide off pretty darn easy.

    I beleive reassembly needs the inner hub off the shaft, but even my 
humble Haynes manual addresses that.

    The outer of course is a different story, especially when thread locked 
on like on the 2.2CGT......
