Looking at that thread now...
There are two types, one joint has circlips that hold it in, the other is staked... I've only seen the circlip version on ur-qs, seen both on 4kq's...

The carrier bearing interchanges with a BMW part, the u joint
interchanges with a Suzuki Grand Vitara. Read up on the forum and you
will find out more. I hope this applies to the Urq aswell, as it
should have the same parts as the 4000.
