I was going to mention that in a way.  Probably one of the best tools in 
terms of getting the "right amount" for your car would be if you had an 
agreed value policy of your own on it.

Under such circumstances I would assume your ins. co. would go after the 
other co. for the proper amount.

Did you have collision insurance on it?
