type 44 speaker impedance?

In my type 44 the front right speaker I managed to reach where wires are
connected to speakers, move a bit and the speaker worked again. Then 1 hour
later the speaker stopped working. When leaving Toronto reception is limited
to a few AM stations. Not sure if antenna or radio is source of problem.

Hi Tony

Thanks for the advice. Guess I don't want to blow up the output stage of the
Alpine ;-)

So now the questions is - do I simply buy some passive crossovers and use
those for the stock speakers, or get some cheapish 5.25" coax and use those
in place of the low freq. speakers in the doors (and skip the tweeter). I am
inclined to do the latter - least amount of effort and most likely to
work....(ie, just wire two new regular speakers to the Alpine and call it a
day....)

Thanks again,

Dave
