Oil pressure warning at 2800 rpm, 1988 90Q

Thank you guys, you know your stuff.  Fixed the wires with new  connectors 
and have no more oil pressure warning! 

However, as soon as  the car starts, the oil gauge gets pegged at the max. 
Any  suggestions?

If I remember correctly, Oil pressure will tend to be highest when you  
first start the car.  It's cold, more viscous and, therefore, requires more  
effort to push it through the various passageways.
 
Once your car is warm, the pressure should settle back down to the 'normal' 
 levels, engine speed dependent, of course.
 
Perhaps the gauge is registering higher due to less resistance of a "clean" 
 connection.
