Huw,

To make soap you need lye and a fat or an oil.  The fat/oil must be 
an ester of a fatty acid not a mineral oil from a petroleum based 
source.  WD40, etc, are petroleum based products and won't produce 
soap.  The humor is clever but the chemistry is a little off.  ;-)
