Well, I wouldn't expect an aftermarket warranty to cover a downshift
over-rev, which is *very* clearly abuse, not mechanical failure.
As for the present case- I have an extended warranty on my 'brick
thanks to the previous owner, and from what I've read and how they
acted in the transfer process, they seem most interested in:
-whether recommended servicing has been performed
-whether the owner/driver took steps to prevent further damage
Both seem reasonable. I would be interested to hear about how things
go overall, given that at some point I may be faced with making a
claim, too.
