I believe the reference comes from either the end of the sensor where
the wires come into the sensor, or via inside the jacket that goes
around the wires, used on sensors which are designed for use under a
certain level in the car (ie close to the road, as in post-O2-sensor
cats and the like.)
Could be wrong, though.  Google your heart out!
