Motor won't start after Timing Belt & Cam Adjuster gasket replacement (2.8 30v)

To elaborate a bit, I've actually run into this before. The lifters can
bleed down from sitting for so long, and the result will be little or no
compression, and then lots of lifter clatter when it finally starts.
