Grant was on the path.
Subject was an A6 quattro 2.8 auto.

Our 1999 Avant is a Tiptronic.

ZF is the brand and these guys who advertised in the QuattroQuarterly
magazine know these things:
"ERIKSSON INDUSTRIES

Old Saybrook CT right off 95 IIRC.

As a side note to change the transmission fluid there is a special way
to do it.

No gauge just a gravity feed of fluid into the transmission which needs
to be at a specific temperature (trans fluid / range of operating
temperatures.)

I watched one done with the VAGCOM "tool" which is a vat of fluid and a
siphon hose with a J hook at one end.

Ours 99 TIP A6 Avant always had a "skip" in 2nd gear, kinda felt like a
lock up from fluid to direct drive sensation.

Our 1999 A4 tip Quattro does the same thing.
We did our fluid at 150K no difference in feel or drivability.
Its was nasty black for a "lifetime" fluid..........
