That makes no sense, the idle switch does not tell it to go closed or
open loop. Think about it, when you start the car, if you depress the
gas pedal a bit, it still runs fine.

I may be wrong, but last time I messed with an idle switch, it had no
"arm", just a little tiny button that gets pressed when at closed
throttle. but I may be wrong on this one, to repeat ;)
