Winston-Salem is far from podunk, even though NASCAR is supreme, and
anything that doesn't read Pontiac or wear the bow-tie is worth "nuthin."
You want to know podunk- try living where I am at... "The Heartland."  So
small, that there is one local TV station, with
theheartlandconnection.comas the name of its website.  Two Audis
exist, and the other one is owned by
the husband of a woman who works in my building-*I work at a University*.
The name- Kirksville, MO.  3 hours from KC or STL depending on the direction
you go, and 1.5 hours from Columbia home of Mizzou.
