Unfortunately, I'm in the south and none of the normal suppliers
carries it. They don't insulate foundations here, since it doesn't get
that cold. I went to about eight different stores yesterday, to no
avail. Nonetheless, I will find it, just have to do some searching.
It is funny that you mentioned it in 2 x 8 sheets. That's what I
thought I recalled. I used to do a good bit of work with it,
insulating the skirting on trailer houses in MT. I'm actually from up
north. I grew up in WI by the UP border till I was 12, then lived in
Stevens Point, WI for two years. Then, I spent the next 10 years in MT
(4 in Missoula, 6 in Bozeman). Boy do I miss it.
BTW, I'm going to glue it to both sides using the normal 100% silicone
found in the caulk tubes. I've used it before for projects like this
(foam on the roof of conversion vans when doing upholstery work) and
it works great. I'll be getting back on teh project tomorrow, hope to
have some pics to send and I'll give another update. Now out to work
on Dad's 190E (pulling the inst cluster and rebuilding the single
wiper gearbox).
