Let me clarify a bit... The actual shifting of the trans is fine. This happened when I was attempting to engage from Park to Drive... So the car never left park. Usually after driving for a bit it was easy to engage drive and park but on cold days I the car sits it gets tight. So it's no the tiptronic or the actual trans but just the lever to engage it into drive/reverse etc.

I went out this morning and started her up and went to leave and gently but firmly pulled back on the gear lever and it gave way... Now it's free to move and the car is stuck in park. The brake release still works so I have to put my foot on the brake but it still doesn't make the gear change..(since I know that's up near the lever itself anyway). I'm sure I broke something but where do I start... It's cold and snowy and I am looking for a guess so I'm not freezing myself to death out there looking for it (most likely in the dark since I usually work during the day)
