Huw,

That may still be an option.  We'll need to contact someone at Mount 
Washington to arrange it, but they are very accommodating.  Bob D'Amato 
arranged a fun GTG for former hillclimb competitors & workers a couple 
of years ago.

Every person at Mount Washington that we contacted was thrilled with the 
idea of having a competitive event again.  If we can give them an idea 
of how many vehicles to reserve a "corral" for, then it may be possible 
to do it again in the field beyond the starting line. (The area used for 
"victory lane" after the final run)
