C4 no start

Why the alternator?  If it's dead and you killed the battery,
the car wouldn't start again. Jumping it with a dead battery
means the alternator is working to keep the car running.

No door chime, no hazard lights... Are any other things not working?
My first guess would be the ignition switch is dead/dying. Lot's of
funky things happen with a bad ignition switch. It's fairly easy to
replace. Get an OEM Audi part, as the after market pieces seem to
fail within months.
