O-scope uses...

That is one application an o-scope would be ideal for.  I haven't had need
to do so myself.  

The connectors are fairly standard, so making up an adapter is a
possibility, and if you had a common situation it might be worthwhile.  They
make thin metal probes that allow you to get to the connection pins from the
back side of the connector ... that is what I typically use ... admittedly
more for DVM measurements, but they would also work for an oscilloscope.

Has any one ever tried to monitor the knock sensors in a live situation?
 Anyone make up a connector to tie into existing harness?
