Stupid Headlight Bulb Replacement Question

Hi, Jeff, welcome....
If your A3 is like my A4, there are 4 bolts that need to be removed, and also the air intake, if it's the light on that
side. On my car, 2 of the bolts are easily accessed on the front, but the other 2 are more difficult - they are recessed
in the back of the unit. They don't need to be removed all the way, just loosened so the headlight unit can be pulled
forward and the rear access doors 'accessed'. They are Torx bolts, although you can use a similar-sized Allen
key as well.
It is a PITA job.

Subject: Stupid Headlight Bulb Replacement Question
Hi,
New member here, just signed up last night. This is a seemingly
trivial question but I have spent a great deal of time googling for
the answer and have not found anything useful, so now it's you all's
turn :)
I have a 2007 A3 2.0 and I want to replace the headlight bulbs. I
cannot figure out how to accomplish this. I've poked around the
engine bay and I can see the black access doors on the back of the
headlight
but I am not sure if the entire assembly comes out for replacement, if
I just need to remove certain things like the air filter housing to
gain enough clearance. There was a heck of a lot more free space in
the bay
of my old Volvo 240 :)
Thanks for any suggestions.
