[urq] Toyota should be talking to Audi....NAC

I wasn't going to get into this, but...having been in an old American barge
with inferior brakes and having a multiple system failure that had the
engine going strong at 80mph and no boost on the brakes, I can tell you that
the pedal was dead and hard, but the car stopped ...and then I shifted it
into park and turned it off. Hey, I was 17. It happened fast. I was used
to driving my stick shift Triumph. No freakin' way was I taking either hand
off that dead, heavy steering wheel while I blew on down the road. But
honestly, as adrenalin pumping as it was, I don't know that the car would
have stopped any sooner if I had killed it. It just didn't take that long.
It wouldn't take that long for a 75 lb lady with her adrenalin pumping.
Which leads me to...

ONE word... software.

Been saying it since the start of this media show. Hard on the brakes,
flaming, red hot discs and full throttle??? SOFTWARE. Toyota just needs to
cut the crap and these BS fixes and deal with it, or they are going to be in
worse shape.  It may already be too late.  And if every other manufacturer;
those who have had complaints and those that haven't, aren't actively
reviewing their software controls, they're idiots.

Shutting the engine off would be a first idea, now, but not then. Putting
freakin' cool pushbutton starts that require 3 second pushes to kill and not
making every buyer painfully aware of it during the selling process is just
poor and short sighted logic. Nothing new there.

We are going round and round.

Yes, we all saw this. it conflicts direct testimony, and somebody's
comment that you get once chance.

So, i asked "why once chance?" - i have heard two good arguments:

1. vacuum will run out fast at WOT and most people wont have the
strength to keep pressure up
2. brakes will over heat if you dont get the job done, like now

.. something else? ABS interference?

This may be fuzzier than i first thought. I KNOW brakes are way mroe
powerful than motors. but....now i'm questioning my assumptions
