Rear Creaking

I suspect the rear longitudinal link ends, what tends to fail is the rubber
boot over the joints. They look intact, but in fact are leaking (or letting
the oils evaporate from) the grease that is supposed to be in there. If the
joint is solid an intact, you can prolong replacement by injecting grease
into the joint. It took me awhile to find a fine needle hypodermic that
doesn't leave too large a hole in the boot to make whatever
leaking/evaporating going on worse on my past type 44. Eventually, I did
have to replace the link, but it held things off until the weather was more
cooperative.
