1987 audi 5000cs intermintent start Fuel pump

The fuel pump relay controls power to the pump, and, I think, the ECU. 
It terminates power to the pump if it sees no spark signal on the wire 
from the coil to the tach.

Check the ground on the intake manifold if there is one.
