Is Safety a reason to move on?

Well, after about 15 years on this list, I am thinking of leaving the Audi,
or at least the type 44, fold.

Ironic, because my 200QA is running like a bloody freight train now. So why
leave? In a word, kids. Safety has improved an awful lot in the past 20
years, particularly regarding side/head impact protection. I am by no means
a 'safety at all cost" nut, but on the other hand, an ER doc I know said
that essentially all side impact collisions will cause a head injury unless
you have side curtain air bags. Likleyhood of side impacts are low,
liklehood of injury is high.......

On top of all this, there are (or at least were last week) some smokin deals
on SAAB 9-3 XWD combis - the ONLY AWD, manual tranny wagon left.

Should I sell? Whats a well running 200WQ with 235000 miles worth?

Opinions welcome....
