I got the TomTom 720 and kicked it up to a TomTom 940 via a hack I found
on-line. Took 2 tries but it worked. For the money, I'd say the 720 is
about as good as it gets, cell phone interface, mp3 player, blue tooth
cell phone connection, etc. I use it on my motorcycle with a handlebar
mount, weatherproof it via a ziplock bag. The weather maps feature is a
HUGE plus on 2 wheels, the unit that's made for bikes cost 6X more and
does less. Another plus on the TomTom side is it's computer interface,
it's very friendly P&P for folks with limited computer knowledge.
That BMW logo hack you did saved you $2000, I think that's the going rate
for having the propeller in the opening screen. It's also great not to
be nickle and dimed to death for every little update etc. Mercyless Benz
will tag you for $1500 just to replace the screen on the OEM unit.
BCNU,
Yahoo nuked my website with no warning.
