2001 A4 1.8T engine and tranny swap.. Help!!

Assuming you plugged in all the connections (ECU, TCU, coil packs, battery, fuel 
injector wiring, clutch/transmission neutral switch, etc.), I'd start with the 
easy one -- look for a blown fuse.

And "can't get it to start" could mean a lot of things -- the starter doesn't
spin, the starter spins but the engine doesn't crank, the engine cranks but
doesn't cough. If the last one, check for spark and fuel. Then let us know.
