It goes to the whatsis and is needed by the thingamajig. :)
Crank case... is that the same as the oil pan (lower oil sump in ETKA)?
ETKA shows only the oil drain plug on the oil pan.
Are you sure it isn't on the engine block itself (wherein lie the pistons)?
Or maybe the intake manifold (atop the engine), which feeds air to the
cylinders? Or possibly the upper oil sump (below the block, above the lower
sump or oil pan)?
Wild arse guess: maybe its a hose for the cruise control?
Off the crank case... Where abouts? Right side? Left side? Front? Rear?
A bit more description would be helpful -- location of vent thingy, its
size, size of nipple for hose, etc. Also, US or Euro or other market
engine? A picture (which you can't post to the list; put it somewhere
with a link to it.) would be even nicer.
