I guess I'll be the one to speak up for the high end Audi's
The A8s are way under valued.
We got my wife a '01 A8L a year and a half ago with 82K miles for $9500.
Its got 115,000 on it now.
If you spend a lot of time in the road, man its a nice car.
26-27 mpg on the interstate with 1,000lbs of luggage.
Stick with the '01 or newer and you don't have to worry so much about the
tranny problem in the '97-'00
Only issue with my wife's was the fuel pump wearing out at 110k, and the
stealer wants $1000 for the assembly. You can get just the pump for $200
from Europe.
Only other gripe is the solar sunroof. Absolutely great for hot climates,
but it will wear out the blower motor. That is another $200-250 part.
Of course Team Door handle had a hand in designing the headrest mechanisms,
so they break.
And you have to remember to pinch your nipples on occasion so the water
drains out of the engine compartment and doesn't get in the HVAC.
That's my two cents.
But a $80k car for less than $10K, its a sweet deal.
