Ignition Switch Replacement - now Cabriolet

All...I have a '96 Cabriolet with the same symptoms. Ignition switch will not return to normal off position, leaving the radio on until switched off manually. Will I need the electrical portion of the switch or the lock cylinder when replacing it. The instructions indicate that I will need only the electrical portion and won't have to change my key. Am I reading this right?
