2004 A4 Stuck Hood

So I brought my car down to the shop for an oil change. Called back later this 
afternoon, only to find out
that they could not get the hood open! It is basically 'loose' in that the 
secondary handle pops out from the grille,
but won't open. Any BTDT's on getting it freed up?? I hate the thought (and 
cost) of having to take the front
end off to get it opened....
