Tony,
On the opposite side of the evaporator from the expansion valve is square
thermostat (approx 1"x2" ) with two wires leading to the bottom of it. On
the face there is an adjustment screw with a lock nut. It's been a while but
I think turning the screw clockwise lowers the temp but I'm not positive
about that. Have fun.

Subject: Air conditioner adjustment in 4000 Quattro
Fellow Audi Guru's,
I searched the Archives, and can't seem to find the info I"m looking for.
I'm working on the A/C in my 4000 Quattro. It got very weak, and so
now I've cleaned the expansion valve and I'm also replacing the
Reciever Drier. Those two things plus cleaning the lines as I have
will fix my basic problem. However, while I'm in there I wanted to
check on adjusting the A/C for the coldest temps I can achieve (I'd
like 34 degrees at teh evaporator). I recall reading years ago about
some sort of adjustment, I was thinking it was on a 4000Q or Coupe. If
anyone knows of this, and where it is located, I"d love to know. I
only see the expansion valve in there, and there isn't any adjustment
on it that I can see.
As always, thanks in advance,
Tony
