As is the case on nearly every car I've replaced ball joints on
(probably in excess of 200). That's the reason for the groove in the
ball joint, the bolt goes through it and holds it in place. I was sort
of wondering when someone suggested that the bolt alone will not hold
the ball joint in place. I'd love to see someone remove the ball joint
with the bolt in place. Lots of choice words and destruction would
ensue ;-)
