How to connect cables to blink codes (LAC)

I need to blink codes on my Eurovan which has only two connectors:  white and black.  Black is power supply (+ and -).  Could anyone tell me how to connect the jumper wire (supposed to be connected for 2.5 seconds at least) and the other wire with diode to blink the codes?  
My only experience with this is in my V8Q which has four connectors.  I read and re-read Scott Mockry's directions but they refer to a four connector setup.
