parts vendors

I have ordered many parts from AutohausAZ and had no trouble whatsoever.
They are price competitive, have a good website, good customer service, and
good part selection and variety.

I too have had poor experience with Wahler thermostats over the past couple
of years. I've been through two or three that didn't exactly fail, but they
wouldn't open enough to allow sufficient cooling. I resorted to installing
the just-removed thermostat in each case, which was a Wahler at least once,
that worked acceptably. For a couple of years I would swap thermostats for
winter and summer, but finally gave up on that and left the "old" one in.

I never ever tried Shokan because for as long as I can remember, I've heard
of shady dealings.

Blau screwed me good many years ago and I have never been back.

Haven't used World Impex for any purchases, yet. Maybe once, can't
remember.

I never really think of SJM when I'm parts shopping simply because I want to
be able to do it all online in a web interface style that does not
necessitate communicating on each and every purchase.

AutohausAZ is my "go to" in every case, with about a 95% buy ratio, and a
100% customer satisfaction rating from me.

I remember once when I bought a replacement thermostat for the 5kCSQA ... I
don't remember if it was from the dealer or a FLAPS. I remember thinking to
myself, cool it is another Wahler, just like the one I'm taking out. A
couple months later I get a call from the wife telling me that the car is
overheating. Funny, the original t-stat failed open, which is not *as* big
a deal as failing closed ... which is what the replacement did. IME
thermostats seem to be prone to infant mortality syndromes.

I don't get as much of a warm fuzzy when I read the Wahler brand nowadays
...

I've done business with AutoHausAZ on a couple occasions and have never
regretted it. As a long time urq owner I still haven't gotten over having
dealt with Shokan back in the day, perhaps they have changed. I do
recommend Scott Mockry's business sjmautotechnik.com. I'm not a big fan of
Blau, but personally I think I'd check there before Shokan. I still miss
Rod Ramsey and Didi ...

Bought a thermostat from them, four months later, car overheated resulted in
cracked head, which yielded a replacement engine, since it would have been
more expensive to replace the heads. Does that help?
