Ok folks, I've got another issue with my 99 A6 28q.
After I changed the axles on it way back when, the ABS light came on. I finally decided to check what the code was, and it seemed simple enough: 00283 - Front Left ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G47) 30-10 0 Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent.
Googled a bit to see others have thought about this and came across this nice writeup:
http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/susp_whls_brake_steer/abstroubleshooting.html
Basically, when I drive and turn the wheel the ABS light comes on which the writeup mentions as a symptom. After pulling the old sensor, cleaning out the hole the sensor fits in, I installed a new sensor which I bought from ebay. But...the light still came on after driving just a short way.
Checked the code and got the same code. So, three thoughts come to mind:
1. Either I got a bad sensor - anyway to check?
2. The short is somewhere else - any ideas?
3. Sensor is not all the way in - I'm pretty sure it is, but I'll check again to make sure it is
Any words of wisdom?
