... I was thinking along similar lines ... I don't have direct BTDT with
this car, but quick loss and restoration of power sounded to me like an
intermittent fuel pump too.  

Good luck on the job hunt ... that is somewhere I do have BTDT ... don't
know what you do, but in my circles it looks like things are picking up ...

Somehow, this sounds like intermittent fuel.  Pump?  Filter?
