NC, about 45 northwest of CMP where they run two LeMons events a year.
I think it may be a bit too far down right now to make a LeMons
budget. It will need a MegaSquirt (I removed the entire CIS, but
having sat for 10 years I doubt it was good anyways), the sunroof is
completely removed (37lbs taken off the highest point in the car!!!)
but I haven't made a panel to fill the hole, and I think there's a
rust pinhole in the gas tank (I can see what looks like it might be a
pinhole, but never have poured anything in to see if it holds liquid
or not). Oh, and I tossed the fuel pump 4 years ago because it was so
encrusted in a half inch thick layer of tar crap from the decade old
fuel that it was beyond hope. That's the $500 budget even if the car
was free.
My plan for the car was NASA GTS where it's got to have 4 wheels and
conform to a power:weight chart and that's basically it. I had gotten
the car down to about 2700lbs still with all steel bodywork and the
stock bumpers. The next step was to pull the driveline and put the car
on my rotisserie to strip the undercoat and seam filler.
