I know there are products made just for this situation. Check at your FLAPS.
I have no personal experience however.

Hi Guys;
I was too ham handed and the damage is done: the plug turns freely and oil
drips slowly, forming a small puddle under the car overnight. Too much to
just keep driving, I need to fix it.

The plug looks fine, damage is probably limited to the oil pan.

I'm thinking of first running a tap through the oil pan to try to repair the
thread. Perhaps a new plug would also help, just in case. If not,
replacing the oil pan for $$$. Will appreciate any suggestions.

Radek.
